Is there a void in your life shaped like a jacket built entirely for drinking? Do you hate having to wedge your flask into your back pocket and find your beer bottles constantly slipping from your hands? Turns out, you’re not alone.

Despite these tough economic times, more than 4,000 people have donated their cash to a Kickstarter project to fund a “Drinking Jacket,” which includes a hidden flask pocket, a bottle-opener zipper and non-slip grips in the sleeves. The makers intended to raise a relatively meager $50,000 when they launched their Kickstarter in November. But now, hours away from their deadline, they have raised $509,000—more than ten times their initial goal.

The Drinking Jacket’s creator is “professional drinker” Zane Lamprey, host of the new show Chug, in which Lamprey visits cities around the world to learn about their drinking culture. In this video, he explains his popular creation, which he calls “the perfect accessory for anyone who consumes liquids.” Though it seems unlikely those thousands of backers were hoping to use it to consume ginger ale or milk.
