Video: Chinese Internet Addiction Rehab Looks a Lot Like Boot Camp
The addiction is so bad that some addicts will wear diapers to avoid having to use the bathroom.
The Internet Addiction Treatment Center is a military style facility in Daxing, Beijing, where children diagnosed with clinical internet addiction are admitted by their parents. Here dozens of teenage boys run military drills and follow strict protocols in order to “deprogram” their web-obsessed brains. Their addiction is so extreme, says once counselor, that some have been know to wear diapers for days in order to avoid having to step away from the computer to use the bathroom.
