Have You Spotted “Morley,” TV’s Favorite Fake Cigarette Brand?

Morleys just made their debut on "The Walking Dead." But how many other TV shows and movies have you seen them in?

Morley is a fake brand of cigarettes with more than a passing resemblance to the real-life Marlboro brand. It became iconic partly due to its prominence on the “Brand X” episode of The X-Files (X-Files actor William B. Davis is rumored to have made 50 Morley boxes to give out to fans at an event in New Zealand.) But Morleys have also appeared in dozens of other major television shows and movies over the past few decades.

Just this past week, the fictional cigs made a surprise appearance in The Walking Dead. Another recent glimpse was when Breaking Bad’s Jesse Pinkman smoked Morleys in Saul’s waiting room. Yet Morley’s beginnings can be traced much further back—as far as Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 horror classic Psycho. How many packs of Morleys do you remember from TV and film?
